I was scrolling through my Instagram feed last week when I saw Traders Point Creamery post a picture of them setting up a stage for a concert by the Hunter Smith Band. I’m an ashamed Hoosier to admit that I had never heard of them before, so I looked their new album “Story” up on iTunes. After listening to the previews, I bought the album.
Hunter Smith was a punter for the Indianapolis Colts, and after retiring from football he put together The Hunter Smith Band. The band is based in Indiana, and prefers that you don’t put them in one specific genre category. They say that their sound is part country, part rock, part pop and part alternative.
According to the Bio page on their website, Smith has written and performed music all of his life. And I have to say that I’m glad he’s decided to make this his next adventure. I’m really enjoying the band’s album! Check out my favorite song, Indiana Moon.
